The MATTERS OF CONCERN are as follows.

I heard evidence that neither the property caretaker nor his supervisor was given by responsibility by Camden Council for checking to ensure that the smoke detector alarms in the building (provided by the council in the common parts) were working.

That no person is appointed by the council (for this building and, I was told, across the borough) to check that the smoke detectors are fully operational

This is what the PFDs report says:

" The MATTERS OF CONCERN are as follows.

I heard evidence that neither the property caretaker nor his supervisor was given by responsibility by Camden Council for checking to ensure that the smoke detector alarms in the building (provided by the council in the common parts) were working.

This is what Camden Council person repeats back what the stated MoC are:

Neither the property caretaker nor his supervisor was given the responsibility by Camden Council for checking to ensure that the smoke detector alarms in the building (provided by the Council in the common parts) were working.

That no person is appointed by the Council (for this building and across the Borough) to check that the smoke detectors are fully operational

Its the same, word by word.

However, further down the letter what has been said and repeated back correctly changes a bit to:

the evidence at the inquest was that the practice of the Caretaker of 31 Daleham Gardens was to undertake checks of the smoke alarms around every couple of months.

Repairs to smoke alarms at 31 Daleham Gardens were last raised and actioned in August 2017.

The programme of installation for hard wired alarms is currently in progress and will conclude in 2019.  I live in a Camden Council street property [3 flats) which hasn't had hard wired alarms installed as of Oct 2022.
